It’s that time of the year. Fashion week here and there and everywhere. Yes lovely lovers of African Fashion. ARISE MAGAZINE Fashion Week.
Date: 10th till 13th of March 2011
Venue: Lagos City, the Centre of Excellence @ Federal Palace Hotel
And goodness did they have a serious line-up for this year’s event. Some strong regulars were present such as Deola Sagoe, Jewel by Lisa, NKWO and Bridget Awosika but newest additions like Zed Eye, Bestow Elan and ChiChia London were sure to wow the audience. I previously posted photos of some of these designers but I will add a few more of their work to feast your eyes on.
For the gents, B-Side by Walé Adeyemi shall cater fully. Providing a mix of sports-casual wear as well as some dapper chequered cardigans and bowties. His backpacks come in varying styles but my favourite would have to be the Luxe in the picture below.
The ARISE events and magazines over the past 4 years are known for being star studded with models of colour ranging from Naomi, Liya, Chanel Iman, Alek, Sesileeand many more. Wonder if my favourites will be there this year-Jourdan, Melodie, Sabina and last but not the least Joan.

I did miss out on some serious entertainment and beautiful designs to say the least. But if they continue as they have so far, ARISE Fashion Week should be here to stay.
